650nm laser emitter manufacturer

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a place to source 650nm single mode laser emitters with about 20-30mW output power.
The emitters will be built in (bonded, wide bonded, packaged) in a custom device.

I have a couple of companies in mind but those are mostly know for IR. Where do I get the red stuff from? Mitsubischi? Ushio? Sheauman?

What is the likely production volume and do you have any other specific requirements, e.g. for cost, spectral width, etc.?

I often find that Roithner is a good place to start for emitters to see a wide selection of typical specifications at different price points - the pricelist is helpfully organised by device/package type and then wavelength.

Of course, they’re a distributor, so for high product volumes, some more detective work may then be required if you want to buy from the manufacturer directly to get the lowest cost!

It’s about 15k/year volume. Roithner is a good idea, thanks. I like their pdf price list a lot, but some of those items in the list are not available at all. :sweat_smile: I found a couple of suppliers who do such lasers anyway. I’ll list them for future reference if someone needs it: Sharp, CNI, Eblana, Ushio

I might ask Roithner too if none of these work out. :slight_smile:

Thanks for the suggestion of laser companies! also it is good to know that the Roithner catalogue is a bit obsolete. We will communicate them and see if this can change in the near future
